Moar Bows V2.6.0
For Minecraft 1.15 to 1.21.3
The Moar Bows datapack a bunch of new bow types to the game. The goal was to try and make unique items that are more than just statistical upgrades while also attempting to still fit in with the art style and general game design of Minecraft.
NOTES TO YOUTUBERS:
You may use this datapack in whatever video you like, free of charge. My only request: YOU MUST CREDIT ME for my work. Simply link to this page in your video’s description, pinned comment, or both AND verbally mention during the intro of your video that the pack can be downloaded using the link. “Download in the description” would suffice.
So, what do the bows do?
- TNT Bow:
Causes a small explosion where the arrow lands or on entities that are hit. - Slime Bow:
Launches hit mobs into the air. Does little base damage, but can cause a fair amount of fall damage. - Honey Bow:
Causes hit mobs to be “honey slowed”, which drastically decreases their movement speed. The arrows themselves do very little damage. - Quartz Bow:
Does high damage in the Nether, but very little in the overworld/end. - Shulker Bow:
Causes hit mobs to get levitation. - Ice Bow:
Freezes the target for 2.5 seconds. - Emerald Bow:
Deals massive damage to raiders. - Wither Bow:
Deals a bit of extra wither damage. - Glowstone Bow:
Causes the target to glow for 10 seconds. - Prismarine Bow:
Deals massive true damage to mobs in water, but none to mobs out of water. - Short Bow:
Does high damage, but arrows become less and less powerful the further they travel. - Sniper Bow:
Deals little base damage which increases as the arrows fly further. - Chorus Bow:
Causes targets hit to randomly teleport sometimes. - RainBow:
Makes mobs hit by the arrow drop dye essence. - Firework Bow:
Causes a random firework explosion where it lands, which deals splash damage. The arrows themselves deal very little damage. - Lightning Bow:
Causes lightning to strike where the arrow hits. Lightning stuns enemies for a short time. Arrows themself don’t deal any damage. - Critical Bow:
Deals regular damage, but has a chance to do a massive critical hit. - Random Bow:
Gives random positive or negative potion effects. - Armor Piercing Bow:
Deals some extra damage to armored targets. The extra damage ignores armor. - No Gravity Bow:
Arrows travel with no arc. They will disappear after 30 seconds if they haven’t hit the ground. - Squid Bow:
Causes an ink explosion where it lands which blinds, slows, and withers nearby targets for a short time. - Shooting Star Bow:
Causes a meteor shower of exploding rocks from the sky around where the arrow lands. Quite powerful. - Builders Bow:
Places blocks into the world from your offhand. - Master Builders Bow:
Places blocks from your offhand, but arrows fly with no gravity. - Bee Bow:
Shoots poisonous bees instead of arrows, which arc upward instead of down. - Bridging Bow:
Constructs a temporary bridge where you aim, which can be walked over but fades away after a short time. - Angel Bow:
Gives the user a bit of levitation every time you shoot it. - Short Range Bow:
Shoots slow moving, high damage arrows. - Long Range Bow:
Shoots arrows that fly very fast and far, but only if you pull back the bow all the way. - Bouncy Bow:
Arrows bounch 5 times before despawning. - Anvil Bow:
Launches deadly anvils instead of arrows.
How does this pack work?
Arrows shot by the custom bows get a tag and potion effect which determines what type of arrow it is. Arrows that are in the air can be given custom particle trails. When they hit a block, the arrows vanish, but some have special effects, such as the TNT bow causing a small explosion. Mobs hit by the arrows have the potion effect transferred to them, which can be detected to determine which mob was struck.
